Floydada Power and Light is owned and operated by the City of Floydada. Lighthouse Electric Cooperative (corporate office located in Floydada) has service present in a 12 county area. Both provide reliable service at reasonable rates.
Water
Floyd County is part of the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District. The City of Floydada obtains its water from the Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority and City Wells, and has a 1.2 million gallon daily capacity.

Texas Does Not have a state income tax. Livestock cattle Are Not taxed.

The Floydada Technology Center offers technology training and GED instruction to aid in the educational
development of residents and the development of our businesses.
The Northwest Texas Small Business Development Center is a valuable small business resource for the South
Plains, with sub centers in Lubbock, Abilene, Odessa, Amarillo, Wichita Falls and Stephenville. The staff at SBDC
