Climate

Average Temperatures

Typically, the climate in Floyd County is comfortable with dry - low humidity and clean air.  We do have a beautiful Fall (late September and October) with true changing of the seasons!  Floyd County has a year round growing season with wheat being our major winter crop.  On a 30-year average, Floydada receives an average 14.77" of precipitation annually.  Typically, December thru February are the colder months with our coldest month being January.  November 1st is our average first freeze date and April 15th is the average last freeze date.  June thru August are our hotter months with July being the hottest.
