Overview
Floyd County has a strong agriculture base with cotton, corn, wheat, grain sorghum, and pumpkins being the major crops. Cattle also have a predominant place in our county. Floydada, county seat, is considered the "Punkin Capital of the World"!

Typically, Floyd County has a low cost of living, low cost of doing business, and low energy costs. We have excellent library facilities, excellent meeting facilities, 17 churches representing the protestant and catholic faiths, local newspaper, one country radio station, and one all agriculture radio station.
Floyd County has an array of services to offer its citizens. There are nursing homes, medical clinics, home health services, gymnastics, cable television, and construction and general contractors located in Floydada and Lockney. Other services located in either community include hospital, rehab and fitness center, dental, optometry, aircraft charter, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, insurance, accounting, attorney, laundry and dry cleaning, restaurants and catering, childcare/daycare, beauty salons, and nail salons. Community support services include volunteer fire department, 24 hour emergency medical service (2 ambulances), recycling center, and city owned landfill. |

Floyd County offers all farm and ranch supplies and services, garden centers, fuel services and delivery, tires and tire services, livestock sale barn, implement dealerships, and veterinary clinic. We have several cooperatives--electric, fuel, grain elevator, and cotton gin.
